Taharrush in Italy Young Female Tourists Surrounded and Brutally Sexually Assaulted by Arab Migrants on New Years Eve Video

The horrific Arabic “game,” Taharrush, first gained global attention in 2013 during the uprising in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, where local women and foreign journalists were sexually assaulted by groups of Islamic men exploiting the chaos of protests against the Egyptian president.

Silvia Sardone, a prominent Italian Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and fierce advocate for secure borders has condemned the horrifying New Year’s Eve sexual migrant assaults in Milan that targeted Belgian students. The attacks, which echo similar sexual violence in 2022, highlight what Sardone has long warned about: the dangers of open-border policies and failed integration. Sardone, a labor lawyer and leading figure in Lega Nord (The League), has often faced threats—including threats of sexual violence—due to her strong stance against mass migration.

The 2025 New Year’s Eve Horror

The latest incident unfolded as Laura, a 20-year-old student from Liège, Belgium, celebrated New Year’s Eve in Milan’s Piazza Duomo with friends. What should have been a joyful occasion turned into a nightmare as they were surrounded and assaulted by a group of young foreign Islamic migrants.

Laura recounted her ordeal:

“The other girls and I were surrounded by a group of young foreign men. They clasped our hands and arms and touched us above and underneath our clothes. It was a nightmare.”

Laura further revealed in an interview with Sudinfo that the group was made up of four girls and two boys, aged 20 and 21. They were repeatedly blocked, harassed, and sexually assaulted for over ten minutes by young foreign men waving flags of their countries, including Iraq, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates. “We were trapped, powerless in the face of so much violence. It was a waking nightmare,” she said. Laura added that insults were hurled at Italian citizens and tourists during the attacks.

The attack bears disturbing similarities to a horrifying pattern seen across Europe. The Arabic sexual assault phenomenon known as Taharrush—where women are surrounded and assaulted by coordinated groups of men in crowded spaces—appears to have arrived in Italy once again. This appalling “game” first drew global attention in 2013 during the protests in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, where local women and foreign journalists were attacked by groups of men exploiting the chaos of the demonstrations.

One Italian man, who was also trying to save his wife from molestation, intervened to help Laura and her friends. “It was an Italian gentleman who saved me and his wife. Otherwise, I don’t know what would have happened to me,” Laura said.

The deliberate and calculated nature of the attack highlights the failure of integration policies and a lack of respect for Italian laws and cultural values among significant segments of migrant communities.

2022: The Precedent

In 2022, Milan’s Piazza Duomo was the site of a similarly heinous migrant attack. Over 30 young men, mainly North African migrants. described by prosecutors as a “human wall,” surrounded and sexually assaulted young women, including German tourists. The attackers acted with the aggression and coordination of a gang, paralyzing their victims with fear.

“The girls are paralyzed… They are thrown from one side to the other like objects, as if they were bags or cell phones,” read the prosecutor’s report.

Police eventually intervened, dispersing the mob with batons. Investigators identified most of the perpetrators as young men of North African descent, many with criminal records and some in Italy illegally. Despite arrests and convictions in 2024, the recurrence of such attacks reveals systemic failures in addressing these crimes.

Failed Integration and Rising Hostility

Sardone has been unrelenting in her criticism of Italy’s open-border policies, which she argues have allowed poorly integrated migrant communities to foster hostility toward their host country. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to highlight the dangers:

“Terrible is the story of some Belgian students about what they went through on the night of #Capodanno to #Milano. There is a huge problem of failed integration and the increasingly evident feeling of young foreigners or second generation who hate our country and the police and who do not deserve to be in Italy.”

Her words are being celebrated by Italians who have grown weary of the unchecked influx of migrants and the violent crimes associated with them.

Dangerous Trends Across Europe

The assaults in Milan are not isolated incidents but part of a broader trend affecting cities across Western Europe. Sardone’s warnings about the risks posed by poorly integrated migrant communities echo those of other European conservatives who have decried the violence erupting in cities like Cologne, Paris, and Brussels. These crimes are not random; they reflect deeper issues of cultural disconnection and disdain for the laws of host nations.

Sardone: A Target of Threats

Silvia Sardone’s outspoken views and relentless advocacy for secure borders have made her a frequent target of violent threats. Notably, Muslim migrants have threatened her with gang rape, torture, and death to her and her children after she exposed illegally operated mosques in Italy. Videos surfaced showing individuals explicitly calling for her sexual assault in retaliation for her efforts to hold jihadi elements accountable.

Despite these vile and graphic threats, Sardone refuses to back down. Her determination to speak the truth about the dangers posed by poorly integrated migrant communities, mainly Islamic, has only solidified her reputation as one of Europe’s most fearless defenders of national sovereignty and public safety. Sardone’s courage, even in the face of attempts to silence her through intimidation, has earned her widespread admiration among those who share her vision for a safer, stronger Italy.

Political and Social Fallout

The Milan assaults have reignited debates over immigration policy and law enforcement in Italy. Sardone and Lega Nord have called for stricter immigration controls, immediate deportation of offenders, and enhanced support for police to handle such crimes.

Sardone’s detractors, primarily from leftist and pro-open-border groups, accuse her of exploiting these violent sexual migrant attacks to promote anti-immigrant sentiment. However, her supporters argue that she is merely addressing an urgent reality that other politicians ignore.

“It is no longer possible to justify these behaviors or simply remain silent,” Sardone declared. “This is a problem of failed integration, rising hostility, and a refusal by some communities to respect the laws and values of Italy.”

A Call to Action

Sardone is demanding Italy take immediate and decisive action to stop further tragedies caused by migrants. She argues that violent crimes committed by migrants who will never integrate and hold values that are fundamentally incompatible with Italian society have destroyed public trust in law enforcement and the government’s ability to protect its citizens.

The events of New Year’s Eve in Milan are yet another horrific reminder of the catastrophic consequences of open-border policies. For Sardone, this is not just a political issue—it is a fight for the safety and dignity of Italy’s citizens and visitors alike. She warns that such incidents will only escalate without swift and decisive action, further putting Western society at risk.
