Islamized Netherlands Pegida Leader Edwin Wagensveld Sentenced for Comparing Muslims to Nazis Video

The Hague Court of Appeal has sentenced Dutch Pegida leader Edwin Wagensveld to a suspended sentence of forty hours of community service for allegedly insulting a group. The 56-year-old leader, who is a staunch advocate for free speech and the protection of Western values, had compared certain radical elements within Islam to Nazis. He was not present at the verdict on Tuesday.

Background and Incident

Last year, Wagensveld was sentenced to 40 hours of community service for what was deemed group insults against Muslims. The reason was an action on January 22, 2023, near the House of Representatives, where he tore up a Koran in front of a camera and jumped on the torn-out pages.

During the appeal hearing last month, Wagensveld clarified that his Nazi comparison was explicitly referring to Salafists, a fundamentalist movement within Islam that follows the letter of the Koran. Despite this explanation, the court maintained its stance on the severity of his statements.

Intentionally insulting a group of people because of their religion or beliefs is punishable in the Netherlands. However, tearing up a Koran is not considered a punishable offense, as it falls under criticism of faith. The court found a conditional community service order appropriate rather than a fine, which had initially been demanded.

Wagensveld’s Defiant Protest

In defiance of his previous conviction and in protest against the suppression of freedom of expression, Wagensveld made headlines once again by tearing up a Koran at the court in The Hague during his appeal hearing. This act was intended as a powerful statement against the increasing sensitivity surrounding discussions about migration and Islam.

Wagensveld emphasized the rapid Islamization of the Netherlands and the growing threat to freedom of expression posed by Sharia ideology. “I will continue until it is finally possible in the Netherlands to simply tear up a Koran under the guise of freedom of expression,” he declared.

Exclusive Interview: Wagensveld’s Unyielding Stand

In an interview, Wagensveld provided deeper insights into his motivations and convictions. “This is about standing up against the growing influence of Sharia and radical Islam,” he stated. “Certain groups, especially Muslims, are being given preferential treatment, and the OM, Public Prosecution Service, respond harshly to any criticism.”

Wagensveld continued, “When people really adhere to the Koran, they follow an ideology similar to Hitler. These are people who follow the same ideology as Hitler. I’m not here to provoke but to defend our freedom. I’m accessible on the streets and on Twitter, ready for any discussion. But where are my critics? They hide behind reports and resort to violence.”

He reiterated his stance on freedom of expression, asserting, “I’m tearing up such a hate book here again because it’s allowed in the Netherlands. If you can’t stand it, go to an Islamic country. Here, we value freedom of expression, which is currently under enormous pressure.”

When asked about the purpose of his actions, Wagensveld explained, “To expose the violent texts within the Koran. It promotes an ideology where there is no room for anything but Islam. We see this in countries where Islam prevails.”

Wagensveld dismissed claims of any business interest behind his demonstrations, stating, “I do this at my own expense. I have invested a lot of money and time driving home at 5:30 AM. This is not about business; it’s about fighting an evil ideology threatening our freedoms. The only one who experiences disadvantages here is me.”

Public Prosecution Service’s Demand

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) demanded community service against Wagensveld for group insult. Despite the impending verdict, Wagensveld remains unyielding: “I will not give up whether I am convicted or not.”

Final Remarks

Wagensveld concluded, “I want to raise awareness about the dangers of Islamization. It threatens our freedom of expression. I will continue to fight against this evil ideology, regardless of the consequences. People need to wake up to the reality that our freedom is under threat from radical Islam and Sharia law. This is a battle for the soul of our nation, and I am determined to see it through.”

Wagensveld stands as a bold hero, refusing to be silenced by those who seek to suppress free speech. His actions highlight the urgent need to defend Western values against the encroaching threat of radical Islam and Sharia.

The upcoming ruling will have significant implications for the future of freedom of expression in the Netherlands.
